Questions About Custom Software
Sometimes you should, and we’ll say so. Custom software makes sense when the way you work is part of what makes you good, and ready-made tools keep pushing you back into workarounds and spreadsheets.
No. Show us how the work moves today: the spreadsheets, the whiteboard, the group chat. We agree the result first; working out the screens is our job, and you see every one before it’s built. We’d rather put a first version in your team’s hands early and grow it, with a short written update every week while we build.
6 to 12 weeks. Usual time from your yes to live. Your proposal gives the date. Your team can start using the first part sooner, while the rest is built.
We decide it with you, tool by tool. The jobs spreadsheet and the whiteboard are usually what the new system replaces. Accounting software is usually kept and connected, so your accountant keeps working where they work. Email and the crew’s chat stay, while dates, photos and sign-offs move into the job. A tool that almost fits gets connected if it does the job, and replaced if you work around it every day.
Hosting, updates, fixes to anything we built, and a monthly report on whether the work is flowing through it. As the business changes, improvements are proposed with their price first.
Your data is yours from day one. The code we write for you becomes yours after the 12-month minimum, or sooner if you pay out the remaining months. Our reusable building blocks stay ours, with a permanent licence for you to use them.
