How much does a website or app cost for a small business in 2026?

By Martin Vera Chang, CEO, CTO and Founder.

A calculator, folders and printed charts on an office desk.

At an agency, a small-business website typically costs $3,100 to $10,100 to build, and a booking system $27,500 to $72,000 for its first year (published 2026 prices in Gatineau, Ottawa and Montréal). Hosting, fixes and changes are usually billed on top. At Doyak Tech, a website is $1,500 setup + $149 a month, a booking system or client portal $6,500 + $449 a month, and an iPhone and Android app $12,500 + $649 a month, with hosting, fixes and hours of changes included.

What pushes the price up

  • Logins, bookings or payments. A site that informs costs less than one where clients do something.
  • Connections to tools you already use, like your accounting, calendar or CRM.
  • iPhone and Android. An app in the app stores costs more than a web app that works in any browser.
  • Moving old data. Messy spreadsheets take time to clean before they move.
  • Writing and photos. Most quotes, ours included, expect you to supply them.

The cost people forget: after launch

Building is only the start. A website needs hosting, a security certificate, backups and updates, and an app needs fixes when phones update. Agencies usually bill these separately, by the hour. That’s why we price by the month: hosting, fixes and a set number of hours of changes are included, and fixing what we built never counts against them.

Ways to pay less

  • Start with the smallest thing that gets the result, often a website with your booking tool connected, and add the rest later.
  • Founding clients: the first 25 clients, until 31 March 2027, get 50% off setup and 15% off the monthly price for 12 months.
  • Not sure a quote is fair? Our Second Opinion is $350: a written answer within 5 business days.
